On behalf of the Solicitor General, and on behalf of the staff of Scotland’s prosecution service the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service, the Lord Advocate has expressed condolences upon the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Lord Advocate Dorothy Bain QC said:
“Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was a truly exceptional woman whose dedication to public service stood as an example to us all.
“She was steadfast through decades of challenge and change and she never failed to show leadership, dignity and grace.
“Today we remember one of the greatest figures of world history and we send sincere condolences to her family and all those who are sharing our profound sense of loss.”
